I appreciate your response. You certainly raise an interesting point.

The problem is that I’m not necessarily sure how “socialism” is defined within the poll, so I can only speculate on why the % is (surprisingly) high (especially in the US).

I think rising tuition costs are just one aspect of it. The wealth inequality in the US is higher than income inequality (although that’s growing too). People are getting squeezed out of the middle class. I wouldn’t be too surprised that Millennials are looking to alternative systems.

But I’d like to qualify that I’m Canadian, and these observations are only from research that I’ve read.
